So far in my book The Vietnam War Opposing Viewpoints, I am on John Kerry's section to and he is debating with other people whether or not to withdraw or increase the number of troops in Vietnam on the U.S. side. He is also talking about why he made his decision (as a veteran) to withdraw himself from the war and the impact it has on him. On page 221 someone puts in the news about John Kerry. " Veteran calls for immediate withdrawal."
The Vietnam War and the decisions made in it are important because the US got to test many new weapons and learned a ton in field medicine. The Vietnam war was also important for the US because we had foreign policy gains and lots of military gains. The military gains that we had made would benefit towards future wars. The foreign policy gains were extremely important because we had the opportunity to make more allies and better trade.
