The Vietnam War book is about different people on other sides of the war giving their take of what the war is like. There are six accounts of opinions and each relates to the Vietnam war. This book relates to the Vietnam war because each account is being told by soldiers during the Vietnam war and shows a lot about why the Americans did not like North Vietnam. The war started by the Americans worrying that they would spread communism all throughout Asia and an American soldier says on page 34, "we were all fighting, we were all fighting for the people of Asia and that is what kept us going." On history nets website it shows the amount of troops each country had on the ground and South Vietnam had the most troops to defend their territory. Richard M. Nixon is viewpoint one and he lists all of the things in chronological order that happened during the 1954-1973 Vietnam war and I feel he is the best in connecting with the war. I have read 3 viewpoints and so far I am really enjoying it. I would highly recommend it!
